Serving as an Emergency Physician for over 20 years and working at many of the Chicago areas busiest hospitals, I have treated tens of thousands of patients presenting with emergency medical conditions.
After many years treating these patients, a theme became very clear to me. Whether it be a heart attack, stroke, illness, accident or injury, substance abuse, or behavioral health concern, many of these conditions were the result of a series of unhealthy choices that eventually culminated in the emergent situation.

While providing care to the seemingly never ending stream of patients, I vowed that I must do more to help people prevent these emergencies.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my day is when I am able to form a connection with a patient and help to make him/her aware of unhealthy habits and identify ways to begin making better choices. However, I consistently find that many patients are simply overwhelmed with how to begin making these changes or where to turn for information.
In starting this page, yourhealthinfocus.life, I hope to bring to you regular posts dedicated to presenting simple and easily applicable steps to begin optimizing your health. As a physician, I hope to present current and scientifically sound information in an understandable manner.
I hope you will join me in this journey as we improve our health, one step at a time.
Now let’s get started!
